Bespoke furniture · Portugal

Bespoke solid wood furniture, made in Portugal.

I design and build heirloom furniture from solid European hardwoods in my Lisbon atelier. Dining tables, beds, dressers, nightstands and seating — joined with dovetails and mortise-and-tenon, finished in natural oils. Each piece is one of one, made for the room it's going to live in.

What I make

Dining and side tables, bed frames and nightstands, dressers and sideboards, desks, benches, and one-off seating like the Abra chair. Custom dimensions, wood species and details — I design around your room, not the other way around.

Materials and joinery

European and white oak, ash, walnut, cherry and (on request) jatobá. Hand-cut dovetails on drawer boxes, mortise-and-tenon at the structural joints, hardwax oil finishes that age and refinish well. Built so a piece can be repaired and passed on.

Where I ship

Most pieces are delivered and installed by me across Greater Lisbon, Sintra, Cascais, Setúbal and Comporta. I can ship larger commissions elsewhere in Portugal, and internationally on request.

How a commission works

Brief and references → design sketches and material samples → fixed-price quote → build in my Lisbon atelier with progress photos → delivery, installation and care notes. Most furniture pieces take 6 to 10 weeks.

Bespoke furniture questions

How much does a bespoke dining table cost?
Solid-oak dining tables typically start around €3,500 and scale with size, wood species and base detailing. A fixed-price quote follows your brief and references.
How long does a custom piece take?
Most freestanding furniture takes 6 to 10 weeks from approval to delivery. Larger or more complex commissions can take longer; I'll be clear about timing upfront.
Can I choose the wood species?
Yes. I work mainly in European and white oak, ash, walnut and cherry, with jatobá and other species available on request. I send physical samples before the build begins.
Do you ship outside Lisbon?
I deliver and install myself across Greater Lisbon, Sintra, Cascais, Setúbal and Comporta. For other regions of Portugal — and select international projects — I arrange specialist shipping.
What guarantee do you offer on furniture?
Two years on workmanship, with refinishing and repair advice for the life of the piece. Solid wood furniture is designed to be looked after, not thrown away.
Do you take on small commissions?
Yes — a single nightstand, bench or side table is a perfectly good place to start. Many of my larger projects begin with one piece.
