Floating oak nightstand with upper shelf
A wall-mounted oak nightstand with one large drawer and a slim open shelf above — designed to keep the bedside surface clear while adding a second layer for books, lamp and small essentials.
Installed beside the bed
Overview
This nightstand was designed to do more than hold a lamp. The brief was for a floating bedside piece with one concealed drawer for everyday clutter and an open upper shelf for the things worth keeping at hand — a book, glasses, charger and water without crowding the main surface.
The case is wrapped in oak with crisp mitred corners and a fine shadow gap around the drawer front. Above it, a second oak frame forms a slim bridge shelf that keeps the composition light rather than bulky. Mounted off the floor, the piece reads almost like a small built-in ledge with storage folded beneath it.
Seen both in the atelier and installed beside the bed, the proportions stay calm and architectural: warm grain, sharp junctions, no visible hardware, and just enough layering to make a bedside routine easier.
