A personal design — a sculptural solid-wood chair built around two intersecting planes and a cantilevered seat. Designed and made in Toronto, shown at IDS Toronto, and available as a custom-made piece in a range of solid hardwoods.

Overview
Abra is a personal design — a chair distilled to its essentials. Two intersecting planes form the structure: a tall backrest leaning against a forward-angled leg, locked together by a cantilevered seat that passes through both. A single cut-out handle at the top lets you lift the chair with one hand.
Designed and built in Toronto and shown at IDS Toronto, Abra is now made to order from my workshop. Each piece is built from solid hardwood — white oak, walnut, ash, cherry — selected and matched for grain, then hand-finished in hardwax oil.
Available as a custom commission. Wood species, dimensions and finish are chosen with the client; every chair is built one at a time.
