Solid oak dresser

A freestanding eight-drawer dresser in white oak — generous storage on a lifted plinth, finished by hand and built to move from room to room over a lifetime.

Eight-drawer oak dresser, installed

Overview

Designed for a bedroom that needed real storage without a wall of built-ins. Eight hand-fitted drawers — four shallow at the top for small things, four deep below for folded clothes — sit on an open oak plinth that lifts the piece off the floor and lets light pass underneath.

Carcase and drawer fronts are solid white oak, finished with a clear hardwax oil that lets the grain breathe. Drawer boxes are dovetailed and run on full-extension soft-close slides. Knobs are oil-rubbed bronze, chosen with the owners.

Built freestanding so it can move with the family. Heavy enough to feel anchored, light enough to lift with two people.
