Pair of solid oak nightstands

A matched pair, built side by side from the same boards so the grain reads as one continuous run when they flank the bed. Solid quarter-sawn white oak throughout — no veneer, no plywood on show.

The carcasses are mitred at every corner so the grain wraps the box without a break; the drawer fronts sit flush with a fine 2 mm shadow line and open with a soft push — no handles, nothing to catch a sleeve in the dark. The plinth is recessed and stepped back, so each nightstand reads as a floating volume.

Drawer boxes are solid oak with a sycamore base, running on full-extension soft-close slides. Finished with hardwax oil. Built to be lived with for decades and re-oiled rather than replaced.
