Entry-way closet

A floor-to-ceiling entryway storage wall in rift-cut white oak — full-height coat hanging, a recessed drop-zone with bench and drawers, and a continuous push-to-open front that reads as a single panelled wall against herringbone oak floors.

Overview

A long entryway wall turned into a single piece of cabinetry: rift-cut white oak from baseboard to ceiling, with continuous vertical reveals in place of handles so the whole run reads as a panelled wall rather than a row of doors.

Toward the front door, the run steps in to form a small drop-zone — a scribed oak bench for pulling boots on, a stack of soft-close drawers for keys and gloves, and an open cubby above. The flanking towers carry full-height hanging on one side and shelved storage on the other, sized for coats, bags and seasonal gear.

Built off-site as numbered carcasses, then carried in and aligned to the herringbone floor and the existing oak entry door so grain direction and tone match across the room. Finished with hardwax oil; everything moves on soft-close hardware.
