Attic built-in closets with sliding doors

A run of built-in oak closets tucked under a sloped attic ceiling, with tall sliding doors that follow the pitch of the roof — full-height storage where a standard hinged wardrobe wouldn't fit.

Overview

A wall of built-in closets running along an attic bedroom under a sharply sloped ceiling. Rather than losing the height to a stepped run of small doors, the fronts are tall sliding panels cut on an angle at the top so they follow the roofline exactly — the whole storage wall reads as one continuous plane of oak.

Each carcass was built in the atelier, veneered in rift-cut oak with the grain running vertically so the panels line up across the full length of the wall. The sliding doors run on a concealed top track with a floor guide, so nothing interrupts the floor line and the doors glide silently past each other.

On site, the plinths were levelled first, then the cabinets set in place and the sliders hung and adjusted. Integrated LED strips wash light down the door faces from the top, turning the sloped ceiling into part of the piece.
